What I’ve Learned from building the 6 Love Sports Community

By Andi Neugarten, Founder of 6 Love Sports

When I started 6 Love Sports, I wasn’t trying to build the biggest women’s padel league in Miami. I was trying to build something meaningful that connected women to play more padel.

I believed that padel could be more than just a game. That it could bring women together, to connect, to move, to compete, to grow. I believed in the power of sport to create community. And that belief turned into something real.

What began with one league in one city is now a movement that’s reaching across the U.S. and beyond.

And while the league may be the most visible part of 6 Love Sports, it’s only a small part of what we’re building.

This Is a Community First, Always

The Miami Women’s Padel League was the launch point, a competitive structure for women to play consistently, find partners at their level, and push each other to improve.

But quickly, it became clear: this was about more than matches.

This was about:

  • Women are making new friends and carving out time for themselves.
  • Coaches are seeing their schedules fill up as players get serious about their growth.
  • Clubs are seeing an increase in court bookings.
  • Players showing up week after week not just to play, but to belong and be part of something.

From league nights to networking- from the now-iconic goodie bags, charcuterie boards and wine to morning round robin play, from USPA-sanctioned tournaments to international matchplay, 6 Love Sports is a living, breathing, and growing ecosystem of empowered women connected through sport.

The Challenges Behind the Scenes (And Why I Didn’t Quit)

Let me be honest: building this has been hard.

The logistics alone-schedules, substitutions, locations, scoring, teams, weather- would be enough to overwhelm anyone. Add to that the emotional energy of supporting hundreds of women across multiple levels and managing feedback from every direction… There were moments I asked myself, Is this too much?

But every time I felt that way, someone stepped up:

  • A player sent a message of appreciation.
  • A captain gave me a pep talk.
  • A friend offered to help.
  • Someone reminded me of the impact this was having on their game, their life, their confidence.

And that was enough to keep going.

A Special Thank You to Our Captains

To the incredible women who captained our teams: thank you.

This is not an easy role-you managed logistics, supported your teammates, led by example, and carried your team with grace, commitment, and energy. You helped make this community what it is.

You are the heartbeat of the league, and I’m endlessly grateful for everything you’ve done.

The Unexpected Gift: Real Relationships

One of the most beautiful and unexpected aspects of this journey has been the friendships I’ve formed.

I’ve met women who inspire me, challenge me, support me-women I now consider close friends. Some of the strongest bonds in my life have formed through this community. And I know I’m not alone in that.

The WhatsApp chats. The court-side hugs. The post-match wine. These aren’t just nice extras; they’re the reason we do this.

What I’ve Learned

  • That sport can be a spark, but community is the fire.
  • That leadership isn’t about doing it all-it’s about building something others want to be part of.
  • Those women, when given the space and support, show up, time and time again.

And yes, that charcuterie and rosé go a long way, too.

Looking Ahead: 2026 and Beyond

Next year is going to be big. Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming:

✔️ New leagues in new cities
✔️ The Athena Cup-an international women’s padel showcase
✔️ FIP Bronze Tournament in South Florida
✔️ Junior Development Grant Program, led by rising star Ornella Beltramino
✔️ Power Padel Network activations across Miami, NYC, and San Diego
✔️ More curated events, travel, and team experiences
✔️ More ambassadors, in the USA and internationally.
✔️ More benefits and special offers to everyone who is a member of the 6 Love Sports Community.

Every initiative is designed with one purpose: to elevate women through sport, connection, and community.

This Is Just the Beginning

To every woman who has played, captained, cheered, organised, or simply shown up-thank you.

You are the reason this exists. You are the community. And together, we’re just getting started.

With love and padel power,
